Join artist Heather Steckler to learn about making handmade paper using prairie plants! Participants will explore how plant fibers are processed to become pulp and get hands-on experience pulling their own sheets of paper. They will also have the opportunity to decorate their handmade papers by embedding and collaging dried prairie plants. All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Participants are welcome to bring their own dried plant materials to incorporate into their paper if they wish.
As the program ends upon one year of seasonal change, all participants will be invited to show their work at the Hearst and Cedar Falls Library. Made possible by the Cedar Falls Community Foundation: Kathryn Ray Fund for use by the Library.
