Join us in the library parking lot for our annual kickoff to the Summer Library Program! Music by Janey and the Growlerz, activities for children, mini sandwiches from Jimmy John’s (while supplies last), and more. Bring your lawn chair and sunscreen and celebrate summer with us!

A Universe of Stories
Cedar Falls Public Library Youth Summer Reading Program: June 3–July 26
For children ages birth through 6th grade. Registration begins Monday, June 3.
Make three weekly library visits and earn a free book! After six weekly visits, earn another free book! Paper reading logs and stickers available for very young children to track how much they are read to during the summer.
Pedal Fest Puppet Show
Sunday, July 7, 2:30 p.m., Meeting Room
You are invited to participate in the Cedar Valley Pedal Fest’s “Pedal to the Puppet Show Ride.” Register at 2:00 p.m. at Gateway Park, and at 2:30 p.m. ride the trail over the Cedar River and under the Main Street and First Street bridges to State Street and then to the Cedar Falls Public Library for a puppet show and refreshments. You will take the same route in revers back to Gateway Park for a book giveaway by Books Not Bombs Cedar Valley.

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Madcap Puppets is a theatre nationally recognized for engaging and original children’s theatre productions, as well as in-school educational programs that include performances, workshops and residencies. Please note: According to our safe child policy, all children under 11-years-old must be accompanied by and be within sight of a responsible adult caregiver at all times while in the library.
