Be Weather Aware
Know before you go! Get in the habit of checking weather.gov every morning before you go out. Visit weather.gov on your computer or mobile.weather.gov on your phone. Make sure that you are ready for whatever the day may bring.
Be Weather Prepared
View a weather safety presentation! Each season can bring significant weather events to our area. Learn more about weather safety.
Make a plan and build a kit! It is helpful to think about the resources you need now before a weather emergency event occurs.
It’s easy to adapt your winter kit for the spring and summer months!
Replace any expired items such as drinkable water, non-perishable food, and batteries. Check your first aid kit to see if any items need to be replaced. Swap out extra clothing such as heavy coats with light jackets, windbreakers, or raincoats. Think of other items you might need in your kit as you travel during the warmer months. Make a reminder on your calendar to go through your kit again in the fall to prepare for winter.
