Native American Heritage Month: Milk's Camp, A Chief's Vision

In observance of Native American Heritage Month, guest speaker Sonja Bock will share her personal genealogical journey. She will focus on her ancestral roots within the South Dakota Lakota Nation. During her presentation, Ms. Bock will provide historical and social context into her heritage. 

Ms. Sonja Lee Bock, M.A. and is Native American and African American. Born in South Dakota and raised in the rich cultural heritage of the Lakota people. Sonja’s adult life has been dedicated to creating awareness about diversity and inclusion. She had taught sociology for ten years now. She also has lectured across the state about diversity issues within education and Native American culture. Genealogy is one of her passions that has helped connect to her personal history. Sonja believes we can create a better future from learning about our past.
